30 years of GEDAT
GEDAT Datentechnik GmbH was founded in June 1990 with two employees shortly before the German reunification.
Today 17 women and 9 men belong to the staff. Manager is company’s founder Uwe Grießbach.
During the opening-time we focused upon the distribution of standard soft- and hardware to corporate clients as well as end customers. Step by step we emphasized specific strategic business units such as the marketing of office-software and solutions for the church sector.
In the mid-90s the distribution of software for the building industry and supporting building companies became more and more important. Beyond that GEDAT developed a software system for car dealers and successfully distributed it under the name “GEDAT-AUTOHAUS”. Due to the economic trend GEDAT has no longer distributed building industry software since 2000.
The actual focal point of the business activities is EPSON. In 1997 a contract with EPSON Deutschland for a nationwide distribution of printers, scanners and supplies was concluded after small-scale cooperation for years.
GEDAT Datentechnik GmbH is authorised as EPSON service center as well as distributor for EPSON spare parts. A large stock of spare parts makes short term deliveries and a fast repair service possible. In addition to that GEDAT has been authorised distributor for spare parts in Europe, Africa and the Middle East since 2009.
Another area of activity started 2001 with the distribution of remote management products together with our partner companies Peppercon (later Raritan), Adder, Ihse and CIM interconn.
The consequent expansion in this business unit and the marketing of spare parts of different producers as well as the distribution of EPSON products and services will continue to be our main goal. One important distribution channel is the internet, especially our own online shops.
